Firing squads at the side of the road if you do 1Km over the limit?? get used to it. been rumors for a while that they are looking to follow Aussies lead with road regs. aussie are extremely tough but they have less deaths than NZ and a much large population. NZ is ****ing shocking when it comes to driving. as the aussie police lady said on a tv interview a while back, the big difference between them and us, is they actually have cops on the roads. its pointless having rules if they are not enforced. |

Yet in Victoria the 'Speed camera' state. The death toll has gone up this year. Currently standing at 140, 16 more than the same time last year. Yes more cops on the road hiding behind speed cameras. |

I would like to add I have done all the hydraulics on 2 car crushers a few years ago and would like to do some more. A mobile crusher would be good and not allowed to retrieve anything out of the car which would be obstruction. Lets see if people still speed after seeing their prize wheels in rectangular slab. It makes such good green sense crushing cars that are not having trouble getting a warrant of fitness. |

| 1107833 | 2010-06-08 10:47:00 | They forget to mention (yet) that the huge drop in the holiday road toll was magically accompanied by a complete absence of congestion at notorious holiday weekend bottlenecks. For instance, Kopu bridge - no congestion: Puhoi tollway free-flowing through the entire weekend. Obviously if they can get their tolerances tighter things will get better; 0.1 KMH tolerance should result in a single cracked fingernail for the entire Christmas break, and they will be able to close 4 lanes on the Auckland Harbour Bridge, while cutting transit times dramatically. Caution should be exercised in too large a reduction or we may be faced with a negative road toll, resulting in mass desertions from all our cemeteries and squads of zombies driving around the place at exactly the 1912 speed limit. Where will they park? It is just the sort of conclusion likely to leapt at by our bureaucrats that frenziedly use statistics the way drunks use lamp posts - more for support than illumination. :banana The weather is not a factor - - it was not mentioned in any of the official advertising, so people staying home in droves was totally irrelevant to the departmental eagle eye. |

| 1107835 | 2010-06-08 21:36:00 | Hey prefect, have you not time and again stated that you drunk drive and that you have wrecked several cars drunk driving? And now you want cars crushed for speeding? I think you should be shot for your drunk driving! When I last drove drunk it was a sport not a crime, but yes I did speed when I was young. Well as much as a Morris Oxford can speed. |
