1158679 2010-12-04 09:22:00 Just got a quick question
Is it possible to display Simplified Chinese in applications without changing the system locale? I have XP.

Also I have a laptop made by Founder. I am trying to find out where is the bios update download.
Details:
Founder S410IG
Serial Number: SAU6043255
BIOS Version/Date: Phoenix Technologies LTD 1.02.212FN, 1/04/2009
That is all I know so far.

:thanks

1158680 2010-12-04 10:25:00 I think you need a language interface pack to change the language. It'll change all of windows. But this applies (windows.microsoft.com). Is this anything else after Founder S410IG (any more letters)?? Speedy Gonzales (78)

Does a language interface pack change the windows language? If so, I don't think that a language interface pack will work, because I have tried downloading and installing the Simplified Chinese language pack in Win7 (i used to have 7) but the program still has random characters.

And, No there is nothing else after S410IG.

I'm pretty sure a LIP changes everything in windows (well it did I last time I tried one), in XP. I would get something like PCwizard. Run it and see what it says for the system

1158686 2010-12-06 10:37:00 XP you can use Simplified Chinese without problems and it wont interfere with your programs ... you don't have to change locale... should be under Control Panel > Languages > Select install optional languages.

Vista and almost certainly Win7 both require Language Packs to be installed.
