| 1107722 | 2010-06-07 10:09:00 | Ok my insinkerator finally went woosh....and water every where, so i bit the bullet and ripped it out myself, went to the shop, bought another one, and have spent the afternoon putting it in........ mutter mutter...... it goes fine, but alas i think the drainage pipes are leaking really badly, .... do these have seals in them? or how do i fix a leak in the plastic pipe? they joining twisty bit....... threaded things? im not strong enough to do any tighter so my nephew is coming round after work to tighten for me. but am wondering if i need a seal or something to seal the leak? cos it gushes up and out the fitting...lol almost as bad a s before the switch over. and yes its all good on the insinkerator machine. and no im not calling the plummber............ im still stinging over the quote he gave me last week to redo bathroom ......... i dont have a spare 6 grand, so im doing the stuff myself, on the budget of when i can afford each peice i do it.... thanks oh and a shower mixer / head will not turn off and continually drip.... is that seals too? (mixer is topliss.......:D ) how does one fix that? beetle :) |

Crikey!! I had a quote to do my bathroom recently, which is currently a bedroom, so the quote involved moving the foul sewer pipe, grey water pipe, and water from the back of the house to the soon-to-be-bathroom, fitting an on-demand gas hot water system, PLUS plumbing up the usual vanity/bath/toilet/shower (which is wet area = more expense) . $4160 . Good rule of thumb is to always get at least 3 quotes . |

| 1107726 | 2010-06-07 19:15:00 | Just remember, you don't need strength to make good seals! Good preparation is more important. If that is the case, a firm tighten will suffice. Ken  |

| 1107727 | 2010-06-07 19:50:00 | The plastic waste pipe should have a black rubber ring seal in it. Topliss mixers are usually easy to fix the parts are available But you need to go somewhere like Mastertrade or a plumbing shop and not Mitre 10 | gary67 (56) | ||
| 1107728 | 2010-06-08 04:13:00 | Ok i now have encountered a new problem . . . . . :illogical . . . . . after leaving last nights message, and then putting in the dishwasher, the sink fills with the washer waste water and then drains away . . . . . . . . ? i have conected the pipes and machines as per instructions and the same way original one was in, i had a insinkerator 44 and the new machine is a insinkerator 55 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . is it possible i missed something? and are all white water waste pips the same? so i can go buy a seal off the rack so to speak? beetle :illogical |

You have the dishwasher going to the sink, it shouldn't, it should go straight to waste. You've hooked it up wrong somehow. |
