1110939 2010-06-17 02:15:00 Have started having connection problems with a Nokia 5230 via USB to a W7 64 bit PC. Every time that plug in the phone via the USB cable it says that the MTP USB Device drivers have not installed. It says “please consult your device manufacture for assistance getting this device installed” What are these MTP device drivers and how can I solve this issue? Yep have uninstalled the Nokia software and upgraded.
Many thanks

1110940 2010-06-17 02:18:00 if the drivers arent 64bit then it wont work GameJunkie (72)
1110941 2010-06-17 02:25:00 Is that cable connect on Nokia PC Suite?
Cables are so yesterday, work around would be to buy a blootooth usb dongle and blootooth the contacts.
Is the 5230 infra red capable?

1110942 2010-06-17 02:44:00 Did you install the version that works with windows 7 ? (europe.nokia.com). Try checking for updates, in Win7. See if something comes up Speedy Gonzales (78)
1110943 2010-06-17 02:50:00 Thanks for the suggestion on the Bluetooth dongle – do they work ok? The USB worked fine for 6 months but then this @#$% problem. If you look in the night sky you may well see a Nokia 5230 in orbit…………..- stuffed (1469)
1110944 2010-06-17 02:52:00 BT adapters should work. BUT, I would make sure it works with 64 bit. I've got an ASUS one here, but the program it came with doesnt work in 64 bit (well 1/2 of it works), but works with Win7. Only thing is windows doesnt have the option to sync between a cellphone and Outlook (for its contacts). Whereas, the program did. Kill UAC. Then try this (discussions.europe.nokia.com ). Even tho its not your phone, it may work Speedy Gonzales (78)

Yep just put dongle in usb port and do connect by bloo tooth on the wizard you only have to do it once.
Next time you hit the synchro button on Suite it will connect automatically.
Consign the cable and driver cd to history (skip bin)
