| 1160311 | 2010-12-10 01:24:00 | GT 320 is a little weak if you ask me for 1080 gaming.... The LCD in those series onyl goes up to 1366x768, so shouldn't matter too much ;) To be honest, 1366x768 is way too low res for gaming imo. |

| 1160313 | 2010-12-10 03:00:00 | Either is going to have competent performance for mobile gaming, again my only concern would be screen resolution. If you're happy with 1366x768 then either is a great option. For me, for gaming, I'd want something like an Asus G51Jx, thanks to it's 1920x1080 screen res. | inphinity (7274) | ||
| 1160314 | 2010-12-10 03:08:00 | My current laptop is a Compaq V6302AU - I think the screen size is exactly the same, therefore it would have the same resolution? I can't check right now because I'm at work not using the laptop. If that is the case then I'm quite happy with it and very used to the screen so.. thats not a problem. There is a significant price difference between the two, but is one better than the other?? |

There is a significant price difference between the two, but is one better than the other?? The HP is slightly better - slighty faster CPU, and faster GPU. Whether it's worth the price increase, depends how big a price increase it is and just how fast you need the machine to be. As to the screen resolution, no, same screen size does not mean same resolution. Aspect ratio and many other factors play a part. For example, the Acer in your original post is a 15.6" panel with a maximum resolution of 1366x768. The Asus G51Jx I mentioned is also a 15.6" Full HD panel, giving it a max res of 1920x1080. Both are 16:9 aspect ratio. I beleive the V6302AU series were a 1280x800 WXGA screen (thus a 16:10 aspect ratio), but may be wrong. |

Theres a $300 difference between the Acer & the HP |

| 1160317 | 2010-12-10 18:44:00 | HP definitely make nicer laptops than Acer, but $300 worth? Depends if your budget can stretch I suppose ;) | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
