1111779 2010-06-23 08:00:00 I am just about to put some games onto the auction site and did a bit of Wikipedia reading .

Are there any games from the 90s that are still being made today in a newer version?

Like . . Sim City, Civilisation, Ages of Empires, Myst, Command and Conqurer, the quest games . . . . . . ;)
I know Need for Speed is and Wolfenstein .

If they don't sell, eDay takes software right
Should I start auction at $1 or $5?
Got some device driver floppies and CDs give away too .

I will keep DOS 5 which is OEM anyway, Win3 . 1 and 95, Win2k and Office 2k :D

:)

Half Life (Original) is being remade :)
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is being remade (released november 2010)
Age Of Empires is still being made, mainly remakes for DS seeing as THQ now owns the rights to the series . I highly doubt we will see a AOE IV .

1111780 2010-06-23 08:24:00 Half Life (Original) is being remade :)

You mean Black Mesa Source?
It's not an official game though. But from the old preview video, it's tasty :drool

Valve did release a version of Half Life using the Source Engine, though it was considered an insult.

1111781 2010-06-23 21:35:00 Half life is a bit newer than my early years. Not a fan of NFS - probably throw them into the the market.

Would like something that is a newer version - not just being made today. I see there is Sims 3, Civilisation 4 is recent, Doom 4 might still be in the marking.

Not a fan of first shooters....

I used to like Indiana Jones, Monkey Island, Police Quest - :D
Have Blade Runner and that was pretty cool on 4 CDs..

PS. Monkey Island - the last one was Dec 09  :p
Some of the newer Indiana Jones aren't that good as the befores, too much like 007 games

1111783 2010-06-24 01:28:00 Wow, Sim City, god I loved that game! I like Screamer series also with my Thrustmaster wheel...LOL
NFS were weak until about 5 in the series, Colin Mcrae was awesome, mate and I did time sessions for hours on that!

Not to mention humourous for a while there.

System Shock 2

Doh! I forgot about that one! Don't forget the widescreen mod and graphics compatibility tweaks.

Don't forget the handful of fan missions made for this too.
Most made by a single person and with me voice acting in it

1111787 2010-06-24 04:13:00 i just need to play this around on my win2k old lappie maybe hooked to a CRT monitor which is better cos you can stretch the graphics I think unllike LCD. resize my partition and put that other into FAT32/16 and use a DOS bootdisk. I was googling the games today, wow, i like those walk around talk to people and pick things up etc. maybe that's why i like travel.

i want the 2009 Dec released Monkey Island :p
