You unhook the right hand hook off the rail and the thing then goes into vertical mode. I can assure you that they really do save a heck of a lot of space - perhaps I should do some measurements to see just how much. They also stop tangling as somebody else has mentioned. And of course great for separating items ie T shirts from warm shirts etc. Other points - I don't see any $2 shops stocking these - they couldn't sell for that price. I did consider making some but trying to buy aluminium (or steels) is extraordinarily difficult around here and just not worth the bother. Yes what looks like an improved model is available on TradeMe. But I do like to see the product first. Today I will visit some of the shops mentioned and try my luck. Watch out for the next exciting installment. Tom |

2010-06-17 04:50:00 | Gave up looking after trying Farmers, KMart, Plastic Box, and Bunnings . The lady who served me at Bunnings was very helpful - she uses them herself but not bought from Bunnings (they don't stock them) . Trouble was she couldn't remember where she bought them - but it could have been The Warehouse . Anyway I had another look at those on Trademe and for $9 . 50 (plus packing) I can buy 2 packets of eight . Cheap enough . I find shopping a bit of a bore so that is what I decided to do Tom

2010-06-17 06:25:00 | Yes, they are handy for standard garments - mainly shirts & blouses, I found. I bought 2 boxes of black ones several years ago (at least a decade, I think) from the old Magnamail mail order catalogue. Current catalogues have been falling out of my magazines frequently recently, but I've tossed them all, so no idea if they still stock them. No doubt someone will have one which hasn't hit the recycle pile yet?

2010-06-18 00:10:00 | They are very much the same. Not really. I have just dumped a pile of similar hangers (but not as Metla has shown in stacking mode) I found them well made, but clumsy and awkward to use. In fact by using them together with the type of hangar in question they could achieve the same result.

2010-06-18 00:13:00 | Not really. On closer inspection it would apear you and Sweeep are correct, The ones I photographed do not appear to have the secong hook to enable them to be access horizontally.
