| 1159802 | 2010-12-08 03:06:00 | So anybody who's been following FTTH knows that wholesale services will start at $40 for a 30m/bit connection, and $60 for 100m/bit: www.nzherald.co.nz Question: What do current ADSL connections wholesale for? Isn't it somewhere closer to $19? It also still leaves the question of data caps, but I'll reserve speculation for now ;) |

| 1159803 | 2010-12-08 03:15:00 | 2Gb cap @ 100Mbs .... 'bout 1/2 an hour at full speed and you've reached your cap ... back to dial up ... :D | SP8's (9836) | ||
| 1159804 | 2010-12-08 03:27:00 | 100m/bit = 12.5 megabytes per-second, provided you're only operating in half-duplex (Downloading). 2048MB / 12.5MBps = 163.84 second = 2.73 minutes to use your cap... But now I'm just being snotty :p |

(just being pedantic ... coz it's a biggger word than snotty) Actually I agree with his maths - though I would point out that he's assuming that you can get 100% of the available theoretical maximum .. which you never because you get packet collisions, retransmissons etc ... that is if you really want to be pedantic .. :stare: |
