1159701 2010-12-07 20:28:00 I have recently install a 1 terabyte drive and have partitioned it into 4 drives.

How do I rename the drive to something else? Everytime I have tried it has come up with you can't do it due to lack of administrator rights. However, the account is the only account and it is the administrator account setting.

Does not apply in your case though.

Do you want to rename the drive(s) or give a different letter? Is it the volume label you want to change?

1159708 2010-12-08 01:42:00 Labeling Your Disk Drives
1.Double click on the My Computer icon on your Desktop until it opens.

2.Then gently click on the drive you want to name just enough until it becomes highlighted.

3.Note: If you are naming a floppy disk, then you must have your floppy in your disk drive.

4.Then click on the word File, which is contained in your top tool bar area.

5.This will pull down a menu for you to now click on Properties.

6.In the Label: box, type a name for the drive up to 11 characters in length.

7.Note: If the drive already contains a name simply over type a new name in the Label: box.

8.Then click on the OK button to save your changes and exit the Properties Window.

9.Then close the My Computer Window to return back to your Windows session.

Gently? What if your mouse only responds to hard / heavy clicks? You're buggered
