1160735 2010-12-11 21:46:00 Hi, my friend is having a problem, with his laptop. When you try to delete a file, the dialog box comes up saying it is deleting the file, but the box never goes away. if you ctrl+alt+del and end the explorer task then run it again, the file IS deleted, but the dialog never goes away. I tried running CCleaner to clean the registry but that didn't fix it.
Any ideas, guys?

2. WHAT files are you deleting?

1160737 2010-12-11 22:01:00 It's just any file.
When he told me about the problem, I made a "New Folder" on the desktop and tried to delete it. The box came up, and stayed there... after I ended the explorer task and started it again, the folder had been deleted.

1160738 2010-12-11 22:11:00 I have found that XP and Vista are a bit buggy if you try to delete a big folder or a lot of files.

But a few files only should be no problem

1160739 2010-12-11 22:12:00 It was just an empty folder.
It does the same thing for shortcuts too.
