| 1113609 | 2010-06-25 21:07:00 | Morning, long time no see :eek: Anyway; I am looking for either of the following options: Option 1: 1.5+ Ghz Athlon or Pentium CPU and accompanying mobo. or Option 2: lower capacity (~80GB) SATA harddrive - Seagate, WD. will consider Samsung and DDR Ram (1GB or 2x512) - haven't checked prices yet for these 2 but thought I would ask here first in case someone had some too offload Option 2 is preferred by SWMBO (I have a spare HP workstation with Pentium Duo with everything, except the HD/RAM) but either option considered. All hardware must be in good working condition Obviously this is not premium stuff I am after, so premium prices will not be paid.. but there is a small pot to draw from and postage to the Taranaki will be covered. Locally, I can pick up Thank you :) |

Some bad capacitor issues brewing on some of the mobos however. +1 I've bought several ex-lease corporate boxes before and they've been fantastic. george12 sold me one for $120 or so couple of years ago - P4 1.6ghz, 120gb hard drive, 512m ram. |

| 1113612 | 2010-06-25 21:56:00 | I am a bit like Myth, I have a 80GB Seagate and a case/PSU and want a motherboard CPU and RAM as a 2nd/testing PC :p I had a look on Trademe $50-75 you could get one. You could get up to a 3Ghz single core, 40GB included with maybe 512MB RAM. Hey nothing wrong for general use. Doing a IT course I find there are two camps generally. One that gets the job done and the enthusiastic crowd. |
