| 1113334 | 2010-06-25 11:43:00 | Got two vehicles the exact same spec tyres etc and at 100 Kph one is actually doing 106 the other 97! Tyre wear and type identical! One car is however 1 year older and 100k high in mileage! Which one do you think is the 106kph at 100 vehicle? btw, before assuming anything neither of these cars have been photographed by a Revenue Van or will be unless that van is parked on a 100kph stretch of road as both read 50kph at 50:p See other thread for possible answer. Like was stated earlier how do you remember something when it was 3 weeks prior? You just say I must of been there for you pay. So how much do you think that camera made that day? So far I have no evidence that there was a camera in the first place and I don't go for guesses so I will leave you to work it out. |

Bury your head in the sand unless its right in front of you. Good result though for me because up until that point I had no idea what I was looking for parked at the side of the road. Now thanks to the Log I have the registration Number and vehicle make and colour thanks to Carjam. I also have a better understanding of how the speed camera system works plus as a bonus know the time period it was deployed for and the amount of vehicles that passed by it and the number of offences. Deduction from that can presume that it would have netted a fair wack of money from unsuspecting motorists and probably suckered me in had I not queried it and I owe it all to the mechanic who drove the car during a routine vehicle safety check. Question is why so covert? Having a Policeman at the side of the road with another further down the road issuing a ticket would be a far fairer and honest approach. Visible road safety who knows they may have missed the mobile P lab that zapped through the radar beam or the unregisterd car that a camera will either not pick up or be followed up on! Yet a Policeofficer would! Road safety or revenue ? |

| 1113337 | 2010-06-25 12:55:00 | No answers yet? If it's the usual thing the newer vehicle is the one that you were driving as your wife probably got your cast off. If it is less than 5 years old it wouldn't comply with Australian design rules, that is why I was interested in model. |

| 1113338 | 2010-06-25 12:55:00 | What vehicle and is it standard as far as wheels, tyres etc or just old? That result seems at odds with most modern requirements for any speedo error to be on the optimistic side. Honda Rafaga and the tyre size is on the label on the drivers door jam. |

A friend of mine has a rafaga, the speedo reads around 10kph fast at 50 and 15kph fast at 100. It's not unusual to be cruising with the speedo reading 120 or 125, gives you one hell of a fright if you forget about it and drive past a cop! |

| 1113341 | 2010-06-26 00:04:00 | Bummer dude. Consider getting it fixed or are ya used to it? How much is it off at lower speeds? It was getting a ticket when I thought as was about the limit but it certainly explained why I thought there were so many dozy drivers on the road. Have got used to it. I might investigate as to if it can be adjusted. If not it is not worth fixing as the sender unit is about $300 and having changed that I may find it is the receiver unit at fault. At a speedo reading of 46 it is doing 50 so it is pretty consistent through the range. |

| 1113342 | 2010-06-26 00:40:00 | Oh sorry officer I thought the speedlimit was 100 said the pommie migrant driving his imported euro car. No sir said the policeman you were doing 160! Impossible constable my speedometer showed 100 miles per hour :lol: Thats why they have a tolerance level of 2 mph+10% in the UK ;) |
