1113054 2010-06-24 21:25:00 I changed my DNS servers (in my router) to:
203.97.78.43
203.97.78.44
and I still cannot access www.noaa.gov

1113055 2010-06-24 21:28:00 Interesting - thanks for confirming that.

Where did you enter those settings - in your router's config, or in your computer's network settings?

I've checked those servers, and they can definitely resolve the records correctly (unlike the .4 and .12 ones you were using previously).

1113056 2010-06-24 21:30:00 In the router,which is a LinkSys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL Router. TideMan (4279)
1113057 2010-06-24 21:34:00 Have you rebooted the router since changing those settings? If not, then please do so.

If rebooting the router doesn't sort it, try the following:
Start>>Run
Type 'cmd' and hit enter
Type 'ipconfig /flushdns' and hit enter
Restart your browser.

If that still didn't fix it, reboot your PC, and let us know how that goes.

1113058 2010-06-24 21:35:00 OK - have just finished talking to the TelstraClear people; they've confirmed that it's a configuration problem on their .4 and .12 servers, and will be fixing it sometime today - the change should be live sometime within the next 24 hours or so. In the meantime, following the steps in my above posts should work around the issue and allow you to access the site. Erayd (23)
1113059 2010-06-24 21:47:00 Thank You Erayd
It works now!!

1113060 2010-06-24 21:47:00 You're most welcome - glad to hear it's sorted . Erayd (23)
1113061 2010-06-24 21:55:00 What is the position with these DNS servers?
Should I now stick with the ones you gave me or go back to the others (that I've been using troublefree since Jul-2006)?
TideMan (4279)
1113062 2010-06-24 22:12:00 Stick with the ones I gave you - .4 and .12 are frequently flaky - they work most of the time, but they're not the most reliable. Erayd (23)
1113063 2010-06-24 22:45:00 Well, the bloody connection has gone again.
Even using the new DNS servers.
