It just makes absolutely no sense."

They will be bringing something like that to NZ soon at a Court near you. You blow into a tube that measures BA content before the car will start.

1160821 2010-12-12 07:52:00 Having an anti-piracy message which lasts only a few seconds is no big deal. Some are longer than others - But Geeeess get over it.

If a person gets so upset if it appears I feel sorry for them, as they have already talked themselves into an "state", and more than likely wont enjoy the movie, what ever it is.

Some DVD's have it, some dont. We rented a DVD last night, if it had the warning it was so fast no one even noticed or cared one little bit.

There have been times when going out to the cinema, some movies have an advert regarding piracy at the beginning, some dont.

If that all someone has to worry about in life then they must have a boring life. Enjoy the movie you paid for.

Just wait till they start dropping in Subliminal Messages regarding piracy -------or are they already doing it ;)

1160822 2010-12-12 08:15:00 If I buy the DVD, why would I want to be forced to watch an anti-piracy message telling me not to pirate something I just purchased and which I didn't pirate?

Ever heard of VLC Media Player?

1160824 2010-12-12 18:12:00 Chilling_Silence! I can't believe you are still around this place.
Nice to know you are still out there.

I haven't tried handbrake for quite some time. I am beginning to think there is something very weird with this particular disk. I have tried doing the French soundtrack and still get no audio. Yet the copy DVD still works fine. It's pretty frustrating having something like 196/200 episodes working fine.

1160825 2010-12-12 19:06:00 The TV studio I often do work for uses a program called AVS video converter to convert their produced *.avi files to DVD and other formats. It works brilliantly both ways. fnphoto (2434)
1160826 2010-12-12 19:08:00 Of course I'm still around, and I happen to have the better part of Voyager myself ;)

Terribly sorry but I don't remember your username?

What happens if you throw that particular disc into DVDShrink, pass it through there, then Handbrake the copy off your local HDD after you've pruned the audio streams with DVDShrink?

1160827 2010-12-12 19:48:00 Why not just recopy them in the DVD format with a program that allows you to edit the chapters etc beforehand, then you won't be losing the quality.
:)

1160829 2010-12-13 01:16:00 Handbrake is your friend :) Seems Handbrake no longer has the option to convert to .avi. Their forum (trac.handbrake.fr)

-- just looked and only supports mp4 and MKV outputs
