1112740 2010-06-24 10:19:00 It's just another modem so as long as you set your email client up correctly, you'll be fine.

The prepaid option is expensive at $30 a month, and the worst part is that it's $30 a month, whether you use all the credit or not. No carry over of unused data like a prepay phone. Use it or lose it, with a T-stick or Vodem. Coverage in the boondocks will be as good as phone coverage, so get someone with an XT phone to see what signal strenth they get there.

I don't think they let you use Orcon's SMTP server so you will probably have to set up a Telecom email account & set up your email to be able to send through Xtra's SMTP server.

I have my gmail account checking my orcon account. You can (but I don't) set up gmail to also be able to send using any email address you have set it up to check.

1112743 2010-06-24 22:13:00 XT.T stick. Prepay 500 mb $29.95 ~ will be charged 10c per mb for first 300 mb then the next 200 mb are free. If you don't exceed the first 300 you will only be charged for what you use. $29.95 for an additional 500 mb. then 10c per mb over that.

I pay $79.94 for 4 gig plus $29.95 for an extra 4 gig. then 10c per mb over that.

1112744 2010-06-24 23:51:00 You've got two main choices:
1) $30 for 500MB as Sue and johcar etc mentioned
2) $1 per-day for 10MB

You'll find it can be easy to go over 10MB just browsing facebook, so I'd recommend the 500MB!

My wife and I use mine all the time, great for when she goes to Unitec and their shoddy wifi network isn't working (You'd think a University would be able to get it right?).

Thanx. I've been tying to tether my phone and I can't send emails unless I setup a dummy xtra address and and use Xtra's SMTP server. Voda and 2D SIMs I just need their SMTP setup and that's it..
