1112134 2010-06-21 11:46:00 For USD$30 you could get one of these www.dealextreme.com comes with a remote too, and can do 720p stuff over component. Only needs 5v, and also supports SD/MMC/MS cards. One thing; I'm not sure if any of these support NTFS drives.

Might also be interested in these:

1112136 2010-06-21 12:10:00 I'd like to make it clear, I'm not gaining anything from these links, they aren't referrals.

I'm not earning anything from them.

I just thought they were appropriate. Maybe a bit overkill though...

A TV is a screen, a Laptop has a screen, a mobile phone has a screen.

A screen is an Output device and has to interface with Input. So you need to find out what input can be connected to the two TVs. You won't get a signal direct to the TV from an external hard drive via USB I suspect.

1112138 2010-06-21 12:44:00 I had begun to wonder, but I suppose Deal extreme is unlikely
to be headquartered in Dunsandel. :)

Sigh.

Agreed. But we do not yet KNOW do we how old the current TVs are on the boat and as yet I'm reasonably sure that you don't know either unless you are privy to info I don't have via PM or you have been on this ( un named ) boat and have inspected the TVs ( Screens ) in question.

Hence my rather pedantic questions for which I make no apology.

Yep. It's an off topic thing but I try to help by extracting info.

You don't have to butt out at all in my humble and perhaps misguided opinion. Possibly I'm too serious in these off-topic threads.

But I do try to help with Computer probs along with any other topic I have personal experience with.

I guess I feel just because it's off topic that does not mean I should not try to extract more info so I can offer help to anyone who has a genuine question.
