Who do I believe transparency Internationale or bk t about who is the most corrupt.
You lose.

Missed out your above point.

If Obama can receive the Nobel Peace Price, well, well, those so-called 'International' bodies can go to xxxx.

They are good for a lough. Never in my life I take those seriously. No, no. you don't have to take my words for granted, but use your own observation and judgement.

1112628 2010-07-08 06:17:00 From today's DomPost....John Key is quoted as saying "New Zealand currently imports about $6b of goods and services from China and exports about $4b. We can correct that imbalance and, in fact, potentially be selling more to China than we're buying from them."

Now back to irrelevant debates on capital punishment, defs. of democracy etc. etc.

1112631 2010-07-08 21:35:00 Only Thais can own land in Thailand, which would have some merit here. Cicero (40)
1112632 2010-07-08 21:44:00 There would be some merit in allowing non citizens to only lease land rather than buy land. Snorkbox (15764)

I agree entirely Snorty, but I am afriad the horse has bolted,so a bit late to close the gate.

1112634 2010-07-08 23:16:00 Well given this no foreign ownership mentality, why hasn't anyone put pressure on the receivers to only consider tenders from, and only from, NZ? (even if they are lower)

If you were selling a house, would you consider the buyer's origins and accept a lower offer from a person if they were from NZ? (and reject a substantially higher offer from a foreigner)

They could own the farm and pay rental for land.

I understand the receivers have a (legal?) responsibility to get the maximum price. I assume the lenders could bring an action against them.
