2010-12-12 06:24:00 | Its not this trojan that encrypts files is it? What if he/she boots into safe mode / networking. Can he/she open any files? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-12-12 06:28:00 | Don't know can't get hold of them at the moment. I removed one from another laptop yesterday called Security Shield AVG let it in so swapped them to MSE and that kicked it out first time I fired it up, so one up for Microsoft

2010-12-12 06:30:00 | If someone is close by, I would remove the hdd then scan it with something. If it can get into safe / mode / networking, and on the net, I could check it out with teamviewer | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-12-12 06:33:00 | Hoping someone on here is a local down there as I'm too far away | gary67 (56) | |
2010-12-14 19:08:00 | Would just like to say Driftwood stepped forward and sorted this out so a big :thanks and my friend even told me your name. | gary67 (56) | |
2010-12-15 01:00:00 | I'd be more than happy to try and help ... but she'd have to be coming through to Dunedin or send me the HD by courier ... even then, if it is the nasty that encrypts all your files, I'm not sure whether I'd be able to do much. Anyone found a solution to that one yet ... apart from paying the ransom that is ???
