| 1161664 | 2010-12-14 22:12:00 | Hi there, My last HDD bit the dust, so bought a brand new HDD, and did a fresh Windows XP Pro installation . After everything was finished, the internet connection is VERY sluggish . . . which definitely wasn't a problem before . All Automatic Updates and other downloads have been completed, so it's not that . Have downloaded all the latest drivers for all the bits, NIC etc . Have tried different browsers - Firefox, Chrome etc . . . . no difference . Called ISP . . . . no problem at their end . The cat5e cable between the modem and the computer looks a bit old, bent in one place, could this be the problem? |
