1114945 2010-07-01 03:15:00 Well I just logged into Facebook... And I get a screamer from Opera...
"Malware warning... Opera strongly discourages visiting this page..." With a big AVG logo underneath the message...

It only happens on www.facebook.com it doesn't seem to pop up anywhere else?
Reckon Opera is just getting paranoid?
Cato (6936)
1114946 2010-07-01 03:33:00 I would probably get rid of AVG.

I'm using opera and haven't receive message like that.

Opera can't detect malware . Its avg thats causing your problem

1114947 2010-07-01 03:36:00 I don't use AVG or any other anti virus for that matter, seems like a waste of time for me. But opera is giving me that malware message at that specific url on Facebook, nowhere else.

Edit: And I'm not getting it anymore.... WTF?

1114948 2010-07-01 03:38:00 Lol. No idea.

Opera is just a browser I don't see how it can display malware message unless perhaps you have malware on your pc?

maybe take a pic next time for us to see?

Antivirus might safe your life one day

Firefox can detect unsafe pages - there's no reason that Opera hasn't also built that functionality into their browser...

As to why Facebook - who knows? But they haven't had the best of records for privacy lately....

1114950 2010-07-01 03:41:00 Or not... img823.imageshack.us

I know Facebook is harmful in what it does to your head and makes you an antisocial sh*t but I didn't know it fracks up your puter too.

1114951 2010-07-01 03:41:00 True . I forgotten. Opera does detect unsafe pages but for it to say malware seems a bit odd to me. Ninjabear (2948)

Tried FF doesn't say anything?

1114953 2010-07-01 04:21:00 And I know Chrome doesn't because I've tried it. Maybe Opera just doesn't like Facebook - and who can really blame them?? :) johcar (6283)
1114954 2010-07-01 04:29:00 www.facebook.com

that was 6 weeks ago, but prob is related...

probably the malware warning was because of this

www.youtube.com

and Opera has a multipart protection if it is enabled - malware, phishing etc

www.opera.com
