| 1162135 | 2010-12-29 02:15:00 | I have been checking the neighbors. House on the right on Orcon getting download speed 4.2 Mbps and no erratic transmission. House on left, Orcon, download 1.9 Mbps, erratic transmission, same as mine. That house and mine share the same roadside junction box. I would say that there is a fault in that junction box (its a mess anyway). Orcon will not have a bar of it! The wireless broadband is looking more & more attractive. |

| 1162136 | 2010-12-29 02:25:00 | A friend of mine has Gasp wireless at his house, but they get problems all the time, also, the speed is only 256K for international which is terrible. The latest issue he was told by the technician was caused by a fault with equipment at the skytower. If you can get someone to fix your ADSL properly, I would highly recommend it over wireless any time. |

Yes, you're right about home wiring, but because the user is with Slingshot, it's easier to presume they're the fault and change ISP's than the other way around No No Telecom still suck and are the 100% reason for holding back broadband in NZ the last 10 years for the sake of there own profit. They deserve zero praise, from people with more than a two minute memory. Roll on FTTD, and my condolences to any poor sucker with Telecom shares :) |
