The lack of an overflow causing the tank to implode is a bit weak and smacks of improvisation by the tea lady while the executives are away in Hawaii researching ways of testing sand for softness.

If there wasn't an overflow the water possibly came out the vents. What does the mesh look like on the inside, is it choked up? Unless the top was locked it would also lift up to let air/water out then drop down. How complicated is the inlet? A wide angle pic would help.

The vents are and were as clear as a whistle.

1114172 2010-06-29 00:27:00 i would check the threads of the lid don't block the vents off.

an odd ball thought......how level is the tank? has the ground shifted?
to much weight on one side, add in high temps making plastic soft, the tank could have distorted and with all those tons of water pushing could have distorted the tank enough to pull the top in.
