Whom better to lead the flock to the promised land of a World City? And then, when the dust settles, and after the first Mayor of Greater Auckland is installed, comes the Opening of The Books. Whereupon all and sundry will be dismayed and shocked to learn we couldn't in a month of Sundays ever hope to afford the 2020 Olympics. To the rescue then comes our new Mayor in a newly adopted guise of Shining Knight, blaming some unforeseen major discrepancy in the finances of the collective councils. :sleep |

No that was the Marathon that was based on the run of Pheidippides at the battle of Marathon in 490BC, the olympics had already been going for 300 years at the point 776BC - 393AD |
