1114592 2010-06-30 08:36:00 I grew up with Cat Steven's glorious music playing everywhere I went, I know exactly what we lost when he was claimed by that primitive religion he embraced. zqwerty (97)

Are not all religions primitive? The Christian one is a lot older than Muslim.

I also think he was great in the early days, and welcomed him back to the world of music!

1114595 2010-06-30 21:15:00 i prefer his early days and don't really listen to his post 1970 stuff. his first 2 singles "i love my dog" and "matthew and son" are awesome goodiesguy (15316)
1114596 2010-06-30 21:30:00 Yes but Christian religion, at least mine, Anglican, has made some attempt to keep up with the times, ie gay priests, marriage etc, the religion mentioned above is still back in mediaeval times and is backward looking and unrepentant, discriminatory towards woman etc and remember Jesus did say some profound things which are part of the teachings ie forgiveness, turning the other cheek, ability to redeem ones-self. zqwerty (97)
1114597 2010-06-30 21:42:00 All religions are retarded, Most of us are tolerant of the belief of others,Going so far as to consider it none of our businesses.

Perhaps the Anglicans can try that approach in relation to Yusuf.

All your religions are the same thing.

1114598 2010-06-30 22:13:00 Bang-on there as usual Mets; the word 'genius' is thrown around far too often in music, but it's appropriate for him; I'd put him in the same songwriting ranks as Lennon and McCartney . . . . . a massive talent .

Yes, I agree . . . great lyrics! . . . saw the prime doco on him the other day!
