Like hell would I ever show my license to a parking warden. I am going to call the CAB to clarify that right now.

Edit: Turns out you can't call the CAB from a cellphone nor Skype. Bugger. Someone with a landline wanna try them too?

So I called up my city council, they said the warden has the right to ask for your name and address but not your driver's license.

I expect the wardens will want the power to arrest next.

1114471 2010-06-29 06:40:00 Fantasy stories don't have a habit of being factual.

+1

If it was true the warden should have to explain why he missed the other very obvious things in the first place.

1114473 2010-06-29 11:07:00 Nothing in the links about them being able to force you to show your drivers licence.
I would show my licence to a parking warden when I see Elvis alive.

1114475 2010-06-29 21:22:00 blood from a stone.

usually don't own anything, already have massive debt which they have no hope of ever paying off. therefore it doesn't matter to them how many fines they get as the fines will get written off due to no ability to pay.

But I bet they have Sky, and probably smoke like a train....
Usually the way.

1114476 2010-06-30 00:28:00 i would suggest time in jail instead but judges are to soft for that and imprisonment usually just makes people better criminals.
Those people that rack up a large number of fines should have there car taken from them well before it gets to the thousands.
Anyone that parks in an invalid zone that isn't should be made one.:D

1114477 2010-06-30 00:34:00 Meh, I have no time whatsoever for parking wardens - most of them are power hungry morons attempting to convince themselves they play an important powerful role in society.

Just recently a flatmates car was towed from outside our house - as it was blocking entrance to a driveway. Though by blocking it had exceeded the 1 foot (I think thats the distance) distance from the little dip in the curb where it goes down to the driveway and was more-or-less smack on parallel with the little dip. (not the required 1 foot or w/e the distance required away from it is)

Now the funny part is it was our own driveway he was 'blocking' so naturally protested. Long story short - after appeals and all that bollox, because the warden had 'seen fit' to issue the ticket - bye bye, pay a stupid fine.

Scum. Hang them all.
