1116376 2010-07-06 03:57:00 What times did your family used to go at? I've only went to bars and pubs in the city late at night, so the atmosphere's probably all different there and then.

Stopped drinking at pubs late. Wouldn't go after 8-9ish. Too crowded, too many a$$clowns. I don't like it anymore. I feel old. :(

Lunchtime usually. Eat, then play games madly.
We once spent about $40 in one evening in a pub in Turangi. Back when it was 20c a game.

Until we got our first ever computer.....which is partly why we got one.....

Good grief that's a lot of games! You're possibly worse than me!
One word (which is kinda 4 words) for the retro arcader: MAME
Multi Arcade Machine Emulator. Bliss for the 70's and 80's gamers.

1116379 2010-07-07 06:20:00 The bar in Merivale (Brewer's Arms?) must be a restricted bar, because I once saw them refuse to serve a family who had a newborn baby with them. Said they could not be served in the bar because one of their party was under 18.

It seemed utterly crazy to the family concerned, and to me. However, that was the terms of their licence...

1116382 2010-07-08 01:46:00 Usually the liquor licences allow accompanied minors in the bar up to 9PM & most pubs take advantage of that, but some set more strict rules for themselves. Greven (91)
