1116231	2010-07-05 11:36:00	I have answered similar questions on this forum - The only way those ads show is based on your recent search habits - using Google - particularly if you are signed in. I think also includes search habits on Youtube. Hence ads semi-related to your search queries will display on future visited sites. Google adsense now target users based on their browsing/searching history (probably at the request of their advertisers - to try target those that do random search/browsing). These are called "interest" based ads and is explained at the Google Ads preference here... (www.google.com). I think you can opt out somewhere...	kahawai chaser (3545)

I suspect the Gay ads are showing because the advertisers are using a "broad" (as opposed to excat and phrase search) match of keywords in Google Adwords - which must be costing a bit of a premium. I use adwords myself and many advertisers (particularly new ones - do not know how to or have no time/inclination to optimize keyword type selection for bidding - often they go for the easier broad type keywords- which will trigger many more ads - even for seemingly unrelated search terms. You can check on Spyfu (http://www.spyfoo.com/) to check advertiser's selected keyword combinations (if sufficient historical search keyword data).Many generated are nothing to do (well specifically) with the ad. So if you enter Gay NZ in Spyfu it sometimes shows related terms (or stats) that advertisers might be using for ad triggering - general phrases which include "match nz" "contact info" and so on. You can further confirm by using those phrases in Google search to view the sponsored ads on the R/H side which I have seen sometimes generates gay contact ads and similar. I think what's triggering Gay or single ads, etc in this forum is by some members clicking/searching on or for "PC World Chat" (which a smart advertiser would use as a selected excat keyword to pop up their ad) and couple that scenario with interest related ads that has been selected by this forum's publisher/owner/or whoever will increase likelihood of those ads...	kahawai chaser (3545)
