| 1165084 | 2010-12-27 08:31:00 | Can anyone recommend me a Y/Pr/Pb component switch? The best I have found so far is this: www.trademe.co.nz With the Y/Pr/Pb switch, are there any that automatically switch depending on which device is broadcasting? So unless anyone thinks of something better I'll probably get the one listed on trademe. I'll be using it to switch from my 360 to Freeview HD I'd prefer to have less clutter with the extra box however the TV only has one component video that uses RCA plugs found on pretty much all electronic hardware in NZ. The other Component video input is on a D-Terminal. Someone (I think it was speedy) gave a link to ebay for a splitter that would let me use the RCA cables on the D terminal however they are all fairly priced at about 40 USD. I would make my own "splitter" but I can't find any D-terminal heads for sale, so If anyone can tell me where I can buy these I would be happy! preferably in NZ but international is an option. | 1165085 | 2010-12-27 10:35:00 | Not sure, but a standard composite switcher should do the job, it switches three terminals, just that two are marked for audio. If you've got the audio running separate (say, to a receiver instead), it shouldn't matter. 99% of video switches are just a passive, physical switch, so it shouldn't matter if you send video down the lines marked for audio. |

I can't, grrrr! The rest is more related to your 2nd post I was thinking of using an A/V splitter. saw one for $10 on TM. I was going to use the S/PDIF to the surround sound. only problem being that it was the most hideous orange. The plan I do have for this is slightly more complex and uses this box:www.trademe.co.nz I will Rip open orange box and take switch circuitry out. Install switch behind desk and re wire the physical input switch to an IR reciever so that when the power button (or another button on any of the remotes) is pressed I will switch from FV to 360. That will probably work in theory. Whether I can get the actual IR switching circuit to work is another |
