1118828 2010-07-14 22:20:00 Really? Mine shows Timaru, NZ.
It depends on the provider - some do, some don't.

1118829 2010-07-14 22:28:00 All orcon IP's show up in auckland. it can be annoying for sites that base local info on IP. The Error Guy (14052)
1118830 2010-07-15 09:25:00 And what would an APR attack be?

Well, I won't go in depth, but, on most networks, combined with wireshark, you can route all traffic through your computer.

Good fun showing mates their MSN conversations, passwords, etc.

1118831 2010-07-15 11:27:00 You mean ARP, not APR? Chilling_Silence (9)
1118832 2010-07-15 11:29:00 You mean ARP, not APR?

Yes and no; ARP poison routing :D

1118834 2010-07-15 12:01:00 Well, I won't go in depth, but, on most networks, combined with wireshark, you can route all traffic through your computer. Not most - only *some* networks, and only if you have permission to announce higher-priority routes (usually via BGP, although some networks use other dynamic routing systems), or the entire network is a single broadcast domain and you have permission to set your switch port to promiscuous. Yeah, true.

I can confirm it doesn't work on the CPIT wireless network :p

But most home networks, like the free wireless routers you get with a new broadband connection, they're easy as pie.

1118836 2010-07-15 12:21:00 But most home networks, like the free wireless routers you get with a new broadband connection, they're easy as pie.Absolutely - most home networks are all on a single broadcast domain, with dumb switches that permit almost anything :devil. Erayd (23)

Yeaa thats what I thought too, ran malwarebytes + eset scan and nothing. Changed ALL my passwords to be on the safe side though.
