2010-07-15 01:55:00 | I'd say they would be far too busy trying to recruit people who don't already know everything. Attitude can't be taught, someone who already knows EVERYTHING can be taught NOTHING. Might want to keep that in mind when applying for a job, coming from someone who has spent the majority of their career recruiting people for IT&T.

2010-07-15 02:51:00 | Did it ever occur to you pctek, or any of you for that matter that you interviewed badly? Personality tests are conducted throughout recruitment to see how compatible you are or will be with the company's existing staff . The fact that you would post your distain at being turned down for a role on a forum of all places for all and sundry to see says more than enough about your superiority complex and only serves to prove they made the right decision . Yes, of course but as I get told I interview well I doubt that was the case . There was no personality test . I have done plenty of those but they did not do one . And posting it here does not constitute superiority, I post all sorts of happenings in my life here, lots if us do . What other people say is their choice and I can't help negative perceptions about SLingshot . I certainly don't claim to know everything and have never been anything other than a basic PC tech . A fact I have told to all other potential employers other than Slingshot . You join a forum to post your annoyance at a discussion on my experience?? Then you have more of a problem with it then I do .

2010-07-15 03:21:00 | I have boycotted Slingshot for years. I'm glad you aren't going to work for them, they are a bunch of Psychotic clowns. I hope you find a job with someone who appreciates you and your skills and knowledge.

2010-07-15 04:08:00 | I missed the evidence of that! heres a possible example -- Trained monkeys, wont listen to what people are saying. Classic example -- Have Rung them several times while at customers places, trying to sort out a fault on the connections, email etc. When they answer the phone - I say hello, give my real name, and company name, tell them the problem the customer is having along with the persons account details. Usually one of the first questions is "can I have your name please" well DHURRR I just gave it a moment ago :groan: IF you tell them all the steps that have already been taken (follow their check list of does and donts) most of the time they try to start again - have you done ??? Well I just said all the tests so far done, which is their standard problem finding. There have been MANY times they have suggested something, it wont work so they blame the persons PC, until I have to prove it not the PC OR they say there's a problem call back in 30 minutes. You are given a number to quote, but you still have to start again with someone else - then they say " Oh I see you already called about this" :waughh: Used to know a guy who worked for one of the ISP's on the help desk,(not slingshot) he gave me a direct number to call if I ever had to -- He knew a lot, and often said --" been through our check list I assume" ? YEP! good that will save some time, then proceed to actually find the fault -- He told me in a conversation once he had to "dumb himself down" in the interview.

2010-07-15 11:37:00 | Untrained "muppets" are easier to hire because they can be brainwashed to read off a script. They hire these people because they can pay them next to nothing. To be honest pctek, from what I know of you, it sounds like you're overqualified for that kind of a job. This is unfortunate when looking for work (I know EXACTLY how you feel), but don't take it to heart, and certainly don't take thedillinja seriously. I'm with wainuitechs thoughts on this one. Hang in there, wear your intelligence with pride, and the right job will come along ...
