1164875 2010-12-26 09:55:00 That file makes no sounds.

Tried all the options, and The Rear speakers are just making a crackling sound. No music at all.

When I had them all in green they played music. Maybe I have them in the wrong plug.

But my cords in the sub are green for audio in. And then Yellow and black cords are just called "Inputs" so I don't know what speakers they're for.

If that makes any sense.

Edit:Realtek audio manager says. C/Sub, L R and Front speaker are plugged in

Another edit: Theres a feature in this program that tests each speaker, it plays a sound through each one, the front speaker, sub and Centre all play a sound, just not the rear speakers.

1164877 2010-12-26 10:04:00 *gasp* it worked. all speakers are now playing a sound.

Wish it was earlier in the day so I could test the quality now.

But thanks heaps 8ftmetalhaed. <3

Gah all except for one.

When it is its turn to play a sound, the sub plays instead.

1164878 2010-12-26 10:08:00 'sall good. Just note your settings down. First time I unplugged my speakers to clean my pc I stuck them in the wrong way and didn't notice for hours till I played a game with 5.1 and wondered why one set wasn't working.

If the sound quality isn't fabulous though, mess with the EQ a bit, turn the bass on the sub down, enable bass management and turn down the pc's volume a bit.

For me, I have the old series and I found they put out too much bass, which, while it's nice, is at times inconvenient when even at a low volume, particularly now i'm in a house with a hollow underfloor with my mum often sleeping a couple metres away.

That said, I also now use my headphones again.

1164879 2010-12-26 10:09:00 Have you tried updating to the latest Drivers ? they are the old style Realtek''s.

Go to The Asus web site and download/install the latest, the option for 5.1 is there in the settings.
