2010-07-15 23:22:00 | ...Unless you are a Hi Fi nut they don't need anything special by way of cables, and truth be known they don't need them even if you are a Hi Fi nut, but some people have money to burn... careful, that sort of talk can start a flame war  The sort of people claiming huge sound differences in spkr/connector cable also claim to hear huge sound benefits in $500(yes) power cables and $100 'hifi' fuses. As if the upgrading the last 1M of a total 20M of (home) power cable will be worthwhile.

2010-07-16 04:45:00 | I know of people who have a dedicated mains feed into there house just for there Hi Fi. :) Wouldn't it be cheaper to build a power conditioner or something.. Of course it's not going to make an awful lot of difference if you haven't spent $$$ on flash speakers/amps/DACs/whatever already

2010-07-25 10:15:00 | The speakers I am trying to use have not been used for about 15 years so may not work. Unless they were stored at the bottom of a swamp they should be just fine. I am currently using a pair of Sony SS-7220 ducted-port ultra-linear 70W (RMS, pink noise) speakers that I bought in Oz 40+ years ago. I retired them for 18 years (stored under my house) then brought them out again last year and they are still as good as gold. Cheers Billy 8-{)

2010-07-25 11:04:00 | Heck Billy T, you're sitting on a bit of a 'gold' mine there aren't you. $1100+ an ounce at the moment. | BobM (1138) | |
2010-07-26 00:33:00 | I know of people who have a dedicated mains feed into there house just for there Hi Fi. :) what about the 200+ miles of cable back to the power station. Not much point ONLY upgrading the last .0001% of cable. ;) I think you mean a dedicated line inside the house?? But again, its all connected to the same point at the fusebox. No gold plated $400 hifi fuses in the fusebox/meterbox either
