| 1117470 | 2010-07-11 06:27:00 | It was around about 50 years between the invention of the can to the invention of the can opener, Before then they used axes, stones, small children, whatever!! I hate some Can openers and I hate the way the good ones can cost as much as $40. So I live by the good ole opener I won in a xmas Cracker We have several can openers in this household (some expensive), but the only one to reliably work every time, is the one on my Swiss Army Knife. |

| 1117476 | 2010-07-12 23:16:00 | While also on this subject... am I the only one to struggle with can openers? We've got 4 in the house ranging from cheap metal thing through to electric... and none of them will hang onto the rim and maintain traction. Almost get to the point of chucking each can out the window in frustration... if it wasn't for the fact I'd be the one picking up the mess afterwards. I always had trouble with the cheap metal canopeners. Then I realised I should grip the canopener firmly rather than just lightly. Since then the cans open much easier! |
