| 1164663 | 2010-12-25 07:18:00 | If you only have 2GB there's not much point in getting 64-bit version, unless you plan on getting 4GB+ RAM later or need to run a 64-bit program. In fact there is not much point in upgrading to Win7 yet, if XP does everything you need. I only have Windows 7 to play the newer games which require DirectX10+, other than that, for my purposes it doesn't do anything that XP can't. |

I got SWMBO a new Win7 laptop a month ago and I do like it. I am upgrading my desktop next week (have the new mb, cpu, ram already) and was going to stick with XP but was advised by several PF1ers to go Win7 - then I read a few articles on Win7 and the choice to dump XP was easy. Definitely worth the upgrade if you have the $$. Then there is the decision of 32 or 64 bit... |
