1458414 2019-02-20 20:44:00 If I received as much email as I do junk mail I would consider myself very popular indeed. Unfortunately I receive that much junk mail that I delete many each day. I'm told that the only way around it is to change my email address, but I really don't want to do that so it looks as though I will just have to put up with it. At least my email programme is quite good at sorting out which is good email and which is junk.

What about everyone else? Do you receive a lot of junk mail as well? I'm becoming sick of it!:annoyed:

1458415 2019-02-20 21:17:00 Very little gets through the Gmail spam filter for me, when I check the spam folder there's a lot in there but I rarely do that so I don't see any spam on a daily basis. dugimodo (138)

I get a bit, but it's generally correctly identified by Gmail so it doesn't tend to get in my way and so don't tend to notice it. How do you read email to see all of it? and who is your mail provider?

1458417 2019-02-20 21:33:00 We all get a lot of Spam, no real stopping it, changing email address wont really help in the long run.

Personally I use Mailwasher, originally designed by a NZ'er as well. :) https://www.mailwasher.net/ Theres two versions the Free ( one account from memory, + a small add for the Pro. Pro - as many accounts as you like, no ads.

What it does is when you open it it looks at your mail waiting, you tick the ones you dont want, click Wash Mail, it deletes them ( from the serer as well) then opens your mail client ( what ever it is, Outlook , emclient, Thunderbird etc) and only brings through the ones you left unticked. Doesn't work on webmail, eg, logging into gmail on line.

You can teach it or mark certain mails, Domains as good, Friend or Bad, Spam etc.

I Actually do it in reverse, I tick the top box that selects all, then untick the ones I want to allow through, there's usually more not wanted than wanted.

An example, only just cleaned out the mail a short while ago so theres only two at the moment.

9370

When I click Wash mail it deletes the bottom one and allows the top.

1458418 2019-02-20 22:36:00 Not enough info
who is your email hosted with, is it a generic ISP email or your own domain name email
all that makes a difference as to options

I'll guess that your email is with spark: @xtra.co.nz
If so, put up with it or go to gmail. They are your best options

Otherwise..
you need to be realistic about spam . No spam filter service is perfect. Some spam will allways get through.
Make the spam filter too aggressive & legit emails start to get blocked .
If its only 2 or 3 a day, then live with it . :)
If its your own domain email , then use a 3rd party Spam Filtering service (eg Spamblocker)

Your email adress is on spammers lists. Nothing you can do about that now
Check your email adress here

1458420 2019-02-20 22:48:00 edit

If you change your email adress to something really wacky that could never be guessed , use a better email hosting service....one thats doesnt sell your info to its 'partners'
and then never give that email adress to anyone, dont send email to anyone
then you wont get any spam
:-)

1458422 2019-02-20 23:04:00 Gmail has the best spam filter I have seen.
If any rarely do get through, I mark as spam (on their server) and am never bothered again.
