| 1458093 | 2019-02-09 00:33:00 | I can't understand how these so called boy racers get away with making so much noise. I'm certain that if I had a noisy exhaust such as that I would fail my warrant. So how are they able to obtain a warrant with all that noise? We have a couple of boy racers in the neighbourhood and the noise that they make - including the blowback - is just unacceptable. So how do they get away with it?:annoyed: |

| 1458094 | 2019-02-09 01:14:00 | they disconnect the bov and change muffler for the wof then revert it back again. in some cases its simply the wof garage turning a blind eye. of course any cop can catch them and do them for that. but that means govt actually has to spend money on the police. |

And don't tell me Harleys have to be noisy or that it's somehow part of the character, I've seen(& heard) quiet ones before. Some people just think it's cool, and feel the need to share it with the rest of us. Luckily it's not too frequent round my area. |

| 1458098 | 2019-02-09 04:23:00 | Watching the Highway Cop program on TV, I get the notion that after getting a WOF the vehicle owner is required to maintain the vehicle to a WOF standard. Even though there is a current WOF on the vehicle the driver can be charged for operating a vehicle not up to WOF standard. Worn tyres, noisy exhausts and faulty brakes are examples. | Bobh (5192) | ||

There's an older guy I see sometimes on a beautifully maintained Harley around here, it still sounds awesome just a more muted than most you see around and you can't hear it hundreds of metres away. Harleys are loud because their owners want them to be, not because they need to be. The same with a lot of cars. When the bike going past you is louder than the train at the crossing it's just obnoxious. One time one my way home from holiday I hit a rock and tore the exhaust off my car, it was bloody loud but I swear not as loud as some of the vehicles you see around. |
