1458055 2019-02-08 08:15:00 Less than 5 weeks until the season opener in Melbourne and we still don't know how, when and if we will be able to watch live coverage..................

What the hell game is SPARK playing?

1458056 2019-02-08 11:08:00 My guess would be the money making game. zqwerty (97)
1458057 2019-02-08 16:51:00 Same thought I'm having about the RWC later in the year. Not liking this new arrangement. allblack (6574)

I missed something here ... what has Spark got to do with it, and what is the "new arrangement". Serious question guys, can you fill me in?

1458059 2019-02-08 20:00:00 Sky has lost the hosting rights for several sports.

They were out bid by SPARK :( :( :(

1458060 2019-02-08 21:01:00 Thanks Zippity, I didn't know that. I will probably watch the RWC on ESPN if I can - as I did with the Bledisloe and the northern games. WalOne (4202)

Now there's something I hadn't thought of. That requires further investigation closer to the time.

The Rugby Union didn't give Sky the rights to the US, hence ESPN carried it. It cost me only US$7 a month to subscribe. The only problem I found was that every 10 minutes or so the connection was lost. It only took about 20-30 seconds to get the signal again, but fate being what it is, I got to miss some crucial play or match decider during that time. But still better than paying Sky $37 a match or waiting for Prime :)

hmmn , another $20 a month . Thats only 5 cups of coffee , but is that a bit pricey just for sport only channel ?
"Speaking exclusively to the Herald, Spark Sport head Jeff Latch said the app would cost $19.99 per month"
"There's a single, glaring exception: the 2019 Rugby World Cup, which will be priced separately"

Amazon Prime, Netflix, SkyTv, Hulu ,YoutubeRed now this. Just too many content providers .
