Scat Drive?

"New Zealand authorities have issued a call to find the owner of a USB thumb drive discovered in a frozen poop sample .

(CNN)A USB thumb drive has been found inside frozen leopard seal feces by marine researchers in New Zealand -- and it still works .
The stool sample, known as scat, was about the size of two bread rolls and had been kept in a freezer at the New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) for over a year .

When researchers plugged in the thumb drive, they discovered it featured photos and video from an unknown person's vacation . ( . co/2SZVkm5az4" target="_blank">t . co)

The images show sea lions along the Catlins Coast, while video footage captures a mother sea lion and her baby frolicking alongside a person wearing red shoes in a blue kayak -- the only clues as to who might have owned the device .

If the owner recognizes their images and would like the device to be returned, there is just one small price: NIWA would like another leopard seal scat sample . "

1458008 2019-02-07 04:21:00 Saw that on TV the other night, first thought was that's one hell of a good advertising chance for the manufacture of the USB drive, thats if they are smart enough to do something with the information, eaten by wildlife,sh1t out, frozen for two years - still works. wainuitech (129)
1458009 2019-02-07 04:43:00 We had watches here that they sold 'way before the 1950s that were written up as:

"They take a lickin'
..... and keep on tickin'!"

Youse guys got anything that rhymes with 'poopin' "? I'm gonna write their advertising motto for them...................

"They take a poopin',

1458012 2019-02-07 19:51:00 What I got from that article was - just like the plastic found in sea life, more junk from humans have shown up.
So some poor animal ate it, lost at sea, at the beach or whatever....OK guess it wasn't harmed? But I wonder how many batteries get eaten too.

We humans suck.

1458013 2019-02-07 20:10:00 My bullshit detector is going crazy on this

A usb flash drive was either FLOATING in the sea or embedded in a fish. If it sank like it should , it would still be
on the sea floor. It must have been floating for the seal to eat it .
Weeks possibly months in sea water had no effect on electronics. The time in stomach acid had no effect . Where can I buy such a 100% waterproof and corrosion proof device

The poop was frozen, so someone found some poop, froze then defrosted it , then pulled the poop apart looking for god knows what
They found a USB stick in the poop, so connected a pop smeared USB stick to their laptop .

Old log book found in 50 year old whale poop
Backup tapes found in elephant poop
