| 1456354 | 2018-12-10 05:20:00 | Going to buy a new laptop as the old one has died. I have got the Office CD and product key. Do you foresee any problem in activating it when installed on the new laptop? It's Office Home & Student 2013. Cheers |

| 1456355 | 2018-12-10 06:02:00 | The last one I installed Office 2013, The key that comes with it will already be registered. I had to sign into the Account at MS www.office.com/myaccount , saw the original Install, deactivated it, then downloaded the file directly from the account, went in no problems. Try it and see, if it installs and activates then sweet as :) if not then you'll need to deactivate the original. Keep in mind that on a new laptop Office 365 (Office 2016) will be pre-installed and the 2013 key wont work. |

| 1456356 | 2018-12-10 08:26:00 | I may have a problem here. The dead laptop was passed over to me by my brother in Singapore 3 years ago and the original copy of Office was install by him. How do I deactivate the copy? |

"IF" it doesn't activate there will be a phone number you can call MS and explain whats happened and they will manually activate. They start asking questions if the same key gets used multi times in a short period on different computers. If you don't have the account details there's not a lot you can do to manually log in to deactivate the original. |
