| 1456339 | 2018-12-08 02:11:00 | Hi. Have a question about fitting a PCI graphics card to an old Lenovo J100 8253. The computer is being used as a Juke box basically and will play a dvd but it drops a frame accaisionally (every 5 seconds say) and its annoying even though it is only for about 250ms-300ms. The computer has an 8x AGP slot and 3 PCI slots. I have two AGP cards namely a Nividia MX440 x8AGP 64MB and a Radeon R9250 128MB AGP/VGA. But cannot get drivers for either and I have searched high and low on the net so they are a no go. Question is what PCI Card would be a good choice and that drivers can be got to run it. What MB would be necessary. When I play the Dire Straits DVD from a file on one of my External 4TB HDD's Task Manager shows CPU at 100% and Memory at about 80% The Computer is running Win 7 Pro SP1 x64 and has 2GB PC3200 DDR400 RAM. Can't add more RAM as that is the max it will run. Win 7 Pro x64 is kinda heavy for the old Lenova but it works ok. It has a fantastic Windows Experience Rating of 1.0 Perhaps Change it to W7x32 or XP :D www.cnet.com |

| 1456344 | 2018-12-08 09:18:00 | If its just for playing DVD's? You could try GeeXboX and boot it off a flash drive, it will probably handle dvds fine without all the overheads of windows and low ram. www.geexbox.org |
