| 1458999 | 2019-03-15 20:01:00 | Where to start. Step son was driving past the Deans ave Mosque and now has a bullet hole in his Holden (warned him he should buy a Ford). He sees people lying shot so pulls over gets out and starts to help. First Paramedic to arrive is his previous flat mate between them they start to do what they can, son has someone die in his arms also sees a child die. He also saves a toddlers life. Can't say more at the moment as have no more news from him Your boy will be injured from this. There will be emotional scars that he will carry for a long time. While he can be proud of his own bravery and his contribution toward saving people, there will inevitably be a wide range of 'what if...' thoughts in retrospect that will torture him. Keep your family close. |

Unlike Pomland, New Zealand is a farming, hunting, shooting country and we need guns. Guns dont kill people people kill people. More people are killed by cars than guns. The Prime Minister just said our gun laws will change she just lost 256,000 votes. |

| 1459002 | 2019-03-15 22:27:00 | unfortunately gov always do knee jerk reactions to events like this. legitimate law abiding guns owners will suffer because of this. would any law have stopped this from happening? no. these people do not obey laws. if they want something they will get it. they made IED's, no gun law would ever change that. guns laws hep reduce stuff done by idiots. this event looks to be done by people who have motive, planning, training and enough money. the only thing that can stop events like this is joe public keeping an eye on people around them and working with the police. |

Canada manages with bears and mountain lions without every man and his dog rushing out with a gun. They just have animal control round them up - or video them peacefully in the back garden and stick it on Youtube. We have what? Possums, pigs and a few deer. Oh yeah we need machine guns don't we. Maori managed with a few hand weapons to bring down moa and each other. Of course they weren't able to slaughter a whole heap of men, women and children in a few seconds while standing at a distance. Oh dear.... |

Here's where I get in a pickle . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I do not believe in arming for defense against a human . I am all for having firearms, and I find a lot of pleasure in shooting them and better yet for self defense against a bear which is my primary purpose in re-buying any at this late age . I LIKE to fish and I dislike having a bear remove my liver as I watch . Yeah - they do that . To the point ---> I don't believe in carrying a weapon in my place of worship . I am noncombatant and I want to remain that way . I had enough of death and killing in what I saw in VietNam . Thankfully, I never pointed a weapon at nor pulled the trigger on another human . I know that would have affected me negatively for the rest of my life . I know a lot of guys who did kill in VietNam - and I also know they came back really different . |
