1455992 2018-11-27 17:52:00 The Sniper Elite V2 Game that piroska sent me link to look at is the same as the one that I have But it is different in its opening because it is a version played in Steam, online. That's irrelevant also.

My point with the link was they have successfully installed and played it under Win10.

1455993 2018-11-27 20:04:00 I had no MS Visual C ++ installed until I downloaded and installed all that was available from the MultiPack Visual C++ Installer. (MPVCl_0.7 setup) MultiPack Visual C++ Installer has only been tested on Windows 10.
I attach pics of the installed Visual C++ apps, the installed Windows updates of which there are very few.... dunno why that is.

Some apps that require C++ can be VERY fussy with C++ versions AND the order you install them , especially in Win10 (from experience with installing 1 particular program on multiple PC's)
Try uninstalling all the C++ , the re-install , both 32b & 64Bit in the order of oldest to newest
And make sure you have the most updated version of each, eg the last build of C++ 2013 . Ive had issues with older builds of the the various C++'s , unfortunately its too easy to get an old build version .

piroska.hi. yes I got the point that you were making in sending me the link to show the game dies play in W10. Thanks. I am still attempting to find a fix here with the W10 I am using.

One thing, well two things I haven't mentioned........... the Mobo I use (Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P) I purchased used a year+ ago and it didn't come with a Mobo CD of Drivers etc. I never had a problem with that when I was using W7 Pro x64 and drivers were updated when I searched for them using my Driver Updater app and Windows Updates. However, W10 could be a different scenario and may require more/resources allocated to it so I will seek out the download for the Mobo CD , get it and run it.
2nd thing is that at end of the game instal and I try to click/install both the DX and Visual C++ in the window that opens, I get a notification that states "Unable to execute file. Create process failed. Code 740. The requested operation requires elevation" After that when I try to open the game and are trying all the compatibility options, I get another notification stating " The code execution cannot proceed because SteamClient.dll can not be found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem" ...steamclient.dll is installed.
I never had that notification in W7, so I wondering about Sniper Elite and W10 v1809 x64.
Now I go seek out the Mobo CD.
Thanks

1455997 2018-11-28 01:52:00 Ok I throw in the towel on the Sniper Elie V2 game in W10 Pro x64 c1809. I removed all Visual C++ x86 and x64 installations using Revo Pro v3.1.6, rebooted...Fresh downloaded all x86 and x64 versions from 2005 to 2017, installing them in sequence from earliest to latest, plus I also downloaded and installed the Service Packs that I could find, namely 2008x86 and 2010x86 and 2010 x64. Rebooted.....Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled the Game, rebooted, click to p[lay and am greeted with "The application was unable to start correctly(0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application."...flicked trough all options to Test re: Compatibility, same hopeful spark of life when set to WXP SP3 but fail at the thresh hold. So as far as I am concerned if I were to continue trying to get the game to fire up in my computer then I could be certified OCD or Insane, as Einstein is purported to have quipped, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result".

Thanks all for your help and time. I let go of this thread and "start swimming or I will sink like a stone" :D

1455998 2018-11-28 02:11:00 Sounds like it could be a DirectX error, if the game includes a DX installer on the installation disk you could try running that.
A little weird, but sometimes I've fixed older games by installing other old games from around the same era. Some are better than others at installing the missing requirements

Sometimes though you just have to move on or find a newer version, support for old software doesn't last forever.

I repurchased total annihlation from steam for cheap because the original disks I still have use a 16 bit installer and require a disk in the drive to play - both an issue for my windows 10 machine.
Incidentally your description of what steam is for isn't really accurate, it is primarily an online store for games although the client software does do what you describe that's not it's main purpose.

dugimodo..thanks :D I wouldn't know too much about Steam because I have never used it but the SteamClient.dll is sitting there in the Rebellion Directory in the Local Disk (C: Program Files (x86).' As for DX I have all DX installed up to DX 12 and the prompt to instal the DX and Visual C++ Redistributible at the end of the Game instal refuse to be accepted because they require 'Elevation'.... Is that a boot in the !@#$ or it needs an Admin to give the go ahead for the pair of them to be installed?? Never seen that before in W7 x64 Pro. In fact I never installed them from the disc in W7... DX and VC++ were all there in the computer system, either from other game instals or Windows updates. (Shrug)
Just a quick mention about 'Older games..... I have both Diablo and Diablo II Lord of Destruction running faultlessly in the W10 v 1809x64.... and they are well older games then Sniper Elite V2.....Diablo (1996) and Diablo II LOD was (2000)....I have to have the Expansion disc in Optic Drive for the LOD game to play so I made an .ISO of it and use that.... is faster and easier to do. Sniper Elite V2 released in (2014). I have installed today the first Sniper Elite game released in 2005 and that plays fine. I have Elite 3 ad 4 but haven't gotten around to installing them and see if they play. Tomorrow is another day, or the one after.
On a leaving note I will just say that the Sniper Elite first game popped up a window to instal Direct X 9.0c End-User Runtime and it was rejected by W10. Notice said cannot be installed to this computer.
I will simply have to content myself with using the W7 x64 Pro loaded Computer to play Sniper Elite on the rare occasions that I fancy Saving the World from Russia and Germany :D

1456000 2018-11-29 01:52:00 Hi......I am about to instal Sniper Elite 3 and see how that turns out. I have all the necessary Requirements for the game to play apart from the fact it W10 is not listed the the Compatibility, and as for it saying that a Sound card of MS DX10 compatible or better I dare say I am good to go with what I have.
So the Test will be happening soon and I will update after that.

1456001 2018-11-29 09:00:00 Hi....... Sniper Elite 3 installed and opens. I had to set up Compatibility to be W8, but it also opens in W7 Compatibility. There is not an option in Troubleshoot Compat for W10.
After install I had window to instal DX and Vis CC++redistibutable and I did those two thins. There was a lot of DX being copied across and installed. Vis C++ was 2010 Runtime Libraries with SP1. I will add a few attachments to show the process of installing the DX and Vis C++ and the open Sniper Elite game.......... All I can say is that for me it would appear the Sniper Elite V2 is a no gonna happen in this W10 Prox64 v1809 OS I am running. Say Leave :D
