| 1457926 | 2019-02-04 21:51:00 | Hello I want to buy a simple digital radio. One with a digital station display and easy to read buttons and easy to find contriols. It seems most of them these days have clocks and alarms built in to them which just make sit more complicated for me. One with a USB player socket would be good and I'd like mains power. Can anyone recommend one to me, they seem so hard to find. |

Just bought it in January and still trying to shut the alarm down until we need it, twice a month only, not every morning. Yes, that is the reason I just want a digital radio, no clock and no alarms. One they are set and go off its very hard to get rid of them. I have a nice Sony square box one. But the controls are impossible to read, still uses archaic knobs for volume and tuning. Does not show the station on the display. Turns itself off after one hour of listening. (due to my pushing some buttons a while ago in error) It really is time that radio makers realised that most people use their phone for an alarm. |

What's even more annoying is that the DAC is very likely capable of much higher volume control resolution, than the software bothers to take advantage of. One solution is to buy a set of headphones with an analogue volume control built in (or add one yourself) Set the digital control on the radio to the higher volume than you'd like, then turn the headphone control down until it's just perfect. |

| 1457934 | 2019-02-23 00:04:00 | What I meant by Digital was not the latest DAC, but more like a car radio, where the screen shows the station you are on, and there are buttons to change the station. I do not want a clock or alarm as I my phone for that, and these cause etxra compilations (as noted above) Any suggestions? |
