1456555 2018-12-15 19:40:00 This is a survey of xtra (Spark) email users ONLY:
1. Are your contacts complaining that their emails to your xtra address being reported as spam and hence bounced?
2. Are you having trouble sending your emails to an xtra address?

This is an ongoing issue eg see the Herald articles on the 13th Sept 2018 and again 13th Nov 2018 but it still persists. We hate spam but xtra have gone too far.

Spark say send them the offending email but you try to ask someone to send their rejected email as an .eml file. They are totally bewildered!

Two points
1) Please do NOT reply with suggestions of alternative email services. We have a gmail account which we also use.
2) Just for the record we have had no trouble with Xtra before this "upgrade".

Thanks

1456556 2018-12-15 21:27:00 While I don't use Spark, one of my customers has this problem.

They are from Holland. If they send a Email to anyone and its written in Dutch it will bounce as spam, write he exact same email, same words in English and there's no problems.

Edited:
One thing that has been happening for ages as well, if some accounting programs send out documentation (invoices, receipts, quotes) directly from the program Spark puts them in the spam folder, send the document as a separate PDF attachment and it goes through fine.

Its ONLY with spark that this happens.

Before they got the new email and after - whenever I email friends with xtra email addresses, I frequently get bounced for spam messages, no matter what the subject.

I now email them exclusively on their gmail accounts. Xtra always did suck.

Free email...getting what we pay for :-)
I suspect spark simply choose the cheapest possible option when they moved to SMX

1456559 2018-12-17 08:32:00 Had a business customer call up today, asking about the exact same problem. ANY emails going to a spark address was being marked as spam. They were sending from gmail.

After a bit of investigative work (process of elimination testing various tasks) :nerd: Since it ONLY happened if the mails went to Spark, it was actually the companies website address in the persons signature that was triggering the spam action, remove that and the mails went through fine.

1456560 2018-12-17 20:42:00 Maybe I should check my spam folder :)
I have 2 xtra Email addresses but I have mostly migrated to Gmail so they don't get used much.
I check it all from the Gmail web portal too, so it's possible somewhere back on Sparks servers I've missed stuff.

Ive seen that with a Spark Businessmail a/c, trying to send & have Spark block the send because of website address in the sig.
So Spark can also stop Spark customers from sending anything because of its out of control spam filter :badpc:
