| 1455867 | 2018-11-21 21:18:00 | I am on Win 10 64bit- Build 1803 with all updates . Periodically when I am in the midst of something I hear the PC whirring and often what I am doing slows. I originally thought that was just fan noise. How can I tell if something is running in background (I'm assuming not an update)? If so can I safely "stop it"? I view Task Manager but that is as I have set its parameters. |

Win has various background tasks scheduled . Could also be winupdates , AV scans , other app updates , sync with cloud apps best way is task manager = go into = resource manager look at hard drive access |
