2010-07-19 06:23:00 | Hi Guys I am a bit of a chocoholic I like buying those Cadbury's chunky dairy milk bars for when I'm driving. You know the ones at the supermarket for $2.00 or three for $3.00 etc. And also on the weekend a big Kingsize bar is quite nice with some coffee. But lately I have gone right off Cadbury's. Which brand do you prefer now and why. And which brand do you buy ?

2010-07-19 06:42:00 | Sometimes like Cadbury's from our local import food shops. Three full mix fruit flavored size bars for 5 dollars, from Indonesia (I think). Tastes ok (seems not as "full" as common Cadbury chocolate), and of course cheap. | kahawai chaser (3545) | |
2010-07-19 06:42:00 | I have tried in vain to convert the chocoholic here to Whitakers but he still insists on Cadbury's, despite them changing their recipe a couple of times recently. And maybe we aren't supposed to notice but they have also done the usual dirty trick of shrinking the king size bars down to 200g from 250g. :( Why have you gone off it?

I think it was around the same time that they also changed the wrapping and downsized the product. How could they think those who knew (and liked) the old Cadbury product before wouldn't notice the taste difference? Whittakers is a New Zealand company and their product is good and as far as I am concerned, it is far superior to Cadburys. |

2010-07-19 06:45:00 | Whittakers are better than Cadbury I reckon. But my taste can change on occasions, sometimes I may prefer Cadbury over Whittakers. Guylian while nice is very overpriced I think.

2010-07-19 06:53:00 | Whittakers , because it is NZ made and an NZ company, plus it has more quality ingredients in it. Plus it isn't much more. Not that I buy much, just get it for easter. I have gone off Cadbury too as a brand, due to some of their tinkering with their products to save costs, and they don't even make it in NZ any more. Why support a company when they don't support NZ and it's workers by making the products here. My impression about Cadburies, is they were once a quality brand, now they are catering towards the lower end of the market. Chocolate is a quality once in a while product, so you want it to be perfect. | robbyp (2751) | |
