1120273 2010-07-19 22:22:00 'More than a glass and a half of full cream milk in every packet'. How on earth do they seal it in??:stare:

They use a compressor with O rings of course.

I can't believe how little some people know.

1120274 2010-07-19 22:30:00 Around 1950 or so.

"The company, originally founded in 1896 by James Henry Whittaker in Christchurch moved to Wellington in 1913 and then to a larger factory site in Porirua in 1969." www.pcc.govt.nz

Whittakers have just told me that they've never had a factory in Wanganui and that the above statement is correct. It must have been another brand.

Interesting. I attended primary school with one of the Whittaker kids. Maybe I have Alzheimers or something like that.

Mind you I was born in Wellington and was there also from about 1952 until 1960.

1120278 2010-07-20 00:06:00 I changed to to Whittakers a few years ago when they started advertising they were a NZ company.
Never noticed difference in taste probaly because of all the rum I drunk in my youth has totaled my taste buds.

1120279 2010-07-20 00:30:00 What really annoys me about Cadbury's Dairy Milk is that for 50 years or more it has always been the same.
Now every time I buy some it is different.

Ive been noticing changes/inconsistancies for the last 15+ years :illogical
The Aus dairy milk allways used to taste more chocy a few years back. Was hard to get thou. The new (AUS)dairy milk in the new wrapper tastes far better than the recent NZ dairy milk-now extinct.
Lately I dont think it should even be called chocolate, just psudo choc as
it has so little choc in it (The french have a regulations about what % needed to call it choc)

Cadbury is really just sugar, thats why so many prefer it.
A bit like instant coffee with 2 sugars not tasting like real coffee :punk

99% Lindt choc slab

www.lindt.com

I love the 85% Lindt from Foodtown. Strong enough that I cant pig out on it. Just one small piece a day is plenty.
