ROFL My grandmother solemnly told me somewhere between 1948 and 1952 (I don't recall when), that Armageddon was coming in 1953. She told me (this is true) that the whole population of the World was going to gather on the plains of Armageddon, and fight each other to the death. All people would die, and the rivers would run blood. So she (a descendant of Scottish Presbyterians with mouths like duck's bums) was telling this to a child who only turned 8 in 1953. I had sorted out my weapon (a bone handled meat carving knife that Dad had sharpened so often it was a wicked sliver of a blade). Of course 1953 came and went, but the mental and emotional scars of grandmother's teachings probably lingered on. Since then the JW's have chosen quite a few other dates for Armageddon, yet we meander on... And we think Muslims are mad. |

I know he ain't exactly a genius or a political analyst even, but umpteen years ago the novelist Neville Shute (sp?) predicted WW111 would be sparked by a small country in the Middle East. I don't suppose he had to be a genius to predict that, did he? A plague on all their houses. Locusts too would be good. |

Israel is reacting to unprovoked attacks, and has been since 1948. You want peace with israel, stop the rocket attacks, and suicde bombings, stop hizbollah and hamass. America will not let the jews go for a simular reason to the british refusal to settle peacfully with boney in 1799. And good on them. The jews were taught a very simple lesson in the Warsaw Ghetto. * If you fight, you and some of your family may be killed, if you dont fight, you and your family will all be killed. * For some strange reason a number of the fighting jews of warsaw were shipped to treblinka instead of being shot upon capture, like the majority of the jews in the warsaw ghetto uprising. The majority of them escaped from treblinka and made their way to Israel where they trained others, and fought in the 48 and later conflicts. :) |
