1119695 2010-07-17 07:25:00 Because humanity is a ***** and those of us smart enough to see it aren't surprised to see cases of immense and obvious corruption and general idiocy of those in power, nor do we gasp at the level of ignorance found in the rest of the idiots that follow them?

Stinks though, they really do look like they could use the help.
Just to post SOMETHING constructive.

1119696 2010-07-17 07:42:00 Nigel Fisher, the UN assistant secretary general helping to oversee the aid effort,n: "We are trying to be as efficient as we can, but people have to get on planes, they have to travel around."

Much of the money that has been collected by big charities and NGOs hasn't been spent.

Two of the biggest fund-raisers were Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the American Red Cross

The Chronicle says CRS has spent only 22 per cent of the $140m it raised while the Red Cross reports it has spent just over 30 per cent of $486m in donations.

They don't have to fly in anything. Hand it over and leave.

I wouldn't give them the money and leave, In 6 days the money would be gone,The battles would rage on, and they would be worse off then the present.

1119698 2010-07-17 13:29:00 I donate only to the Red Cross, Salvation Army and St John Ambulance and I donate direct rather than through a third party. I have been known to buy a poppy on ANZAC day.

Other than that I donate to various other bludgers through the tax system. This does not mean all people rip the system off and some people do need a help up but a handout is something else again especially when it's a lifestyle choice.
