1119214	2010-07-15 23:00:00	It's a well-known fact that West Auckland is home to psychos and huge numbers of semi-controlled dogs. When I was working for a power company many years ago, West Auckland had the worst record for bites on meter readers of any other area. Every week, there was at least one West Auckland meter reader off work as the result of a bite. The cyclist was lucky.	johcar (6283)

"He landed a couple of metres in front of me and the guy stopped his truck," the cyclist said, adding that the dog had injured itself but was able to get back into the vehicle. The man drove his truck in reverse at high speed for about 100 metres, then stopped in front of the cyclist and got out. "He's screaming abuse at me [saying that] he's going to get me, he's going to put the dog on me, calling me a chicken. That was his intention - to make me crash. I'd say the dog had changed it's mind by then and just wanted to go home and have a lie down.	pctek (84)
1119217	2010-07-16 00:23:00	Perhaps the truckie was embarrassed at the dog's failure to connect with the intended target and took his rage out on the cyclist instead of the dog... Interesting correlation though, between the owner and the type of dog he has: The truckie - full of misplaced rage, owns a dog of a breed with a reputation for same.... They do say that dogs resemble their owners resemble their dogs...	johcar (6283)
